| KOMAGE-Presses: Proven design made perfect Our entire range of machines are available for the pressing of grinding wheels: our mechanical presses for large scale production as well as our hydraulic presses for sophisticated form geometries. We constantly deal with new challenges in order to offer our customers innovative solutions for now and the future. Isostatic presses, for example, are currently such a new development. They make higher standard in the production possible: for improved quality at low cost. Customers of the machine construction industry: With factor 16 to a new productivity Our customer, a manufacturer of conical grinding wheels with special design, was facing multiple problems simultaneously when he contacted KOMAGE. The manual pressing of the grinding wheels was associated with definite quality problems. There were already customer’s complaints and the economical aspects of the production were generally questioned. Our customer decided to invest in the automation of the press technology. After analysing the conditions and processes at the customer’s site, we designed a hydraulic press system. Equipped with four closed loop controlled punch axes, the machine could press the product in one cycle. The result: If it took two minutes for one part before, now 16 products can be manufactured within the same period of time – an increase of productivity by factor 16! Also, the product quality clearly improved and our customer could expand his offer volume noticeably. Higher piece count, lower costs and better quality - a success all along the line! |
