Powder metallurgy - a future oriented technology
The powder metallurgy is a future technology and its market is growing constantly. It combines advantages, like cost-saving material application, versatility and high economic efficiency. Compared to the existing procedures, which are based on the mechanical cutting process, the powder metallurgy promotes itself as an increasingly worthwhile alternative due to reducing material- and personnel costs.
The progress made in this field plays here a big role. KOMAGE is specialised in this area and offers presses for the production of compacts with simple standard shapes as well as press systems for a highly complex geometry. The segment of the powder metallurgy is an important and growing market for us.

KOMAGE-Presses: As simple as possible – as sophisticated as necessary
According to this philosophy we develop our machinery for powder metallurgical applications. A distinct orientation towards the demanded technical characteristics, the quality of the process goal, and an advantageous cost performance ratio are the main concern of our customers. Therefore, we offer them a solution that links the existing technological modules with specific, innovative elements.
The result are high-quality presses with optimised operational costs. Profitable investments that pay off in the ever increasing competitive market.
Customer of the automobile industry: Less is more An example that speaks for itself.
A supplier of the automobile industry, was searching for an efficient production alternative to an existing system and contacted KOMAGE. Together we worked out the performance specifications that led to a technical solution with a significant financial advantage.
The former production process, which consisted of one press action and additional chipping processes, was now reduced to one single process, the pressing to the final contours; the so-called net-shape pressing. The expensive chipping process could be completely avoided.
This made cost factors like material consumption and interim storage of material, transfer to the chip removal facility and disposal of the chips obsolete. Compared to the press used before, the press system developed by KOMAGE stands out with higher flexibility and profitability. This means, that the customer saves tremendous costs in the production process.
An investment that pays off in a very short period of time!
