  Ceramics- for the application from A to Z
From the automotive accessories to the ignition rod in heating systems: Ceramics are a versatile, often used material in the industry - either as isolation in the electronic industry or as wear protection in the appliance industry. Ceramics are insensitive against high temperatures and resistant against chemical substances. Density deviations, however, are a big challenge for the press technology due to the required high precision of the forms despite the typical shrinkage process for ceramics in the press process.

  KOMAGE-Presses: Intelligent solution for individual tasks
Particularly the special requirements of the ceramic material demand press technical solutions that are precisely made for the characteristic feature of this material and the respective application. In most cases, we recommend our hydraulic presses to the customers of this industrial branch. The closed loop controlled machines offer automatic feed-back of density, force, height and form.

The press automatically takes corrective actions during the process procedure if needed – a sign of utmost flexibility and individual adjustment to the processing task. At the same time, the press systems ensure a high quantity expulsion of inspected quality and thus an economical production. According to the production task required, a mechanical press can also be a cost effective solution, supplemented ,for example, by an automatic handling-, robot-, or stacking system or an automatic tool changing trolley.

Company of the chemical industry: Quality up– Costs down
Our customer manufactures ceramic crucibles as kiln furniture. The production process consisted of three steps before the KOMAGE press system was introduced: pressing of the bottom, pressing of the frame and finally the ceramic pasting of the crucible. Here, the customer was looking for an economical alternative.

KOMAGE was able to prove that it could be done faster, better and cheaper with a hydraulic 3 axes press.The crucible can now be produced in one process. A faster and cost-saving production process has been achieved. Furthermore, the intelligent press technology makes sure that the crucible has a high, reliable quality and improved optics.

A convincing alternative was found and realised – and our customer was highly satisfied!
